Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Keystream Group Limited (incorporating Keystream Consulting) is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2022
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations:
Keystream Group have based these emissions from January 2022 – December 2022.

Keystream emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.

Emissions Reduction Targets:

Keystream Group Limited remains committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions across its UK operations by 2050.

We aim to reduce our total reported emissions by at least 5% by 2030 against the 2025 reference year. This would reduce our annual emissions to no more than 54.83 tCO₂e by 2030.

Keystream’s reported emissions have decreased from 64.8 tCO₂e in the year 2024 to 57.72 tCO₂e in the 2025 reporting year. This represents a reported reduction of 7.4 tCO₂e.

Progress against this target will be measured annually using the latest applicable UK Government conversion factors. Where reporting boundaries, source data or calculation methods change, we will explain the change and, where practical, restate previous figures to maintain meaningful year-on-year comparisons.

Carbon Reduction Projects:

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

We have successfully implemented several environmental management measures since the 2022 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to 0.82 tCO2e, a 19% reduction against the 2022 baseline Scope 2 and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

We have successfully:

  • introduced the use of Microsoft Teams and remote meetings to reduce unnecessary business travel;
  • introduced controls and staff reminders to switch off computers, monitors and other office equipment when not in use;
  • provided environmental awareness training to new and existing employees;
  • installed additional recycling facilities throughout the office;
  • provided reusable water bottles and a plumbed water-filter system to reduce reliance on single-use plastics; and
  • improved the collection of data relating to electricity consumption, business travel, employee commuting, homeworking and operational waste.

We are currently:

  • engaging with our landlord to obtain building-energy, heating, cooling and emissions information for our leased office;
  • working with our landlord to identify opportunities to reduce electricity, heating and cooling consumption;
  • reviewing our electricity arrangements and the availability of verifiable renewable electricity tariffs;
  • engaging with key suppliers to obtain supplier-specific or activity-based emissions information

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  • Strengthening supplier engagement to work with our supply chain to integrate contract-specific emission factors to more accurately monitor and reduce emissions.
  • Increasing staff engagement through sustainability awareness programs and incentives for greener commuting.
  • continue limiting unnecessary business travel and prioritising remote meetings where appropriate;
  • consider environmental performance when selecting and reviewing key suppliers;
